The 52nd NFL championship game is almost upon us. The defending champs, the New England Patriots, are looking forward to their 10th appearance in the Big Game, and they’re preparing to face the Philadelphia Eagles, who are hoping to bring the Lombardi Trophy home for the first time in franchise history.
Fans of these two teams, however, may not be ready to descend upon U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Feb. 4, 2017 (have you seen those ticket prices?). Fear not, sports fans – if you’re staying closer to home, there are scads of excellent venues to grab a drink, nosh on tasty food, and party with fellow sports fans who are sure to be your new best friends. Here are a few locales in Philly and Boston where you can help your favorite team #FlyEaglesFly or root the Pats on because they are #NotDone.
Xfinity Live! Philadelphia
If you take in the Big Game at Xfinity Live!, you’ll be hanging out with hundreds of Philly faithful as you watch Nick Foles and his crew take on the Pats. Xfinity Live! – located just a stone’s throw from Lincoln Financial Field – is a large venue that features restaurants, as well as the impressive NBC Sports Arena, which includes a bunch of TVs, including a monster 32-foot LED HD TV. They’re hosting a Birds Big Game Bash at $25 a pop, so get your tickets now.
Chickie’s & Pete’s
You have your choice of several Chickie’s & Pete’s locations around Philadelphia (although the South Philadelphia venue is closest to Lincoln Financial Field), and they’re a natural draw for sports fans in the area. They were certainly packed for the NFC championship and will be hosting a party for the Big Game as well. They’re well-known not only for their vibrant atmosphere but also for their unique menu that includes crab fries, which you totally have to try.
Tavern on Broad
Tavern on Broad is another Philly treasure that will make an excellent spot to catch the Big Game. They have an excellent menu, complete with cheesesteak egg rolls (because why not), and the venue features over 40 HD TVs, so there really is no bad seat in the house.
Cask ‘n Flagon
Located near Fenway Park, Cask ‘n Flagon is a beacon for all Boston-area sports fans. They have a variety of local beers on tap (like Wachusett Blueberry) and a full menu featuring burgers, pizza, pasta, BBQ – and much more.
Boston, where champions are made and live forever (especially on the walls at the Cask). LET'S GO PATRIOTS!!! Do your job, boys. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #casknflagon #fenway #fenwaypark #boston #bos #igersboston #igboston #617 #massachusetts #eats #drinks #restaurant #restaurants #bar #bars #sportsbar #sportsbars #sports #danceclub #dance #nightclub #nightlife #bostonnightlife #bostonusa #bostonlove #bostonma #patriots #patriotsnation #nfl #nflplayoffs
CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar
The CBS Scene Restaurant & Bar is a large sports bar located in Patriot Place, which is nearly close enough to touch Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts (home, of course, to the New England Patriots). It features a three-story restaurant and a staggering 145 HD TVs, plus a full menu and sweet bar.
Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill
The Scoreboard Sports Bar & Grill is located just north of Boston in Woburn and offers a festive sporty setting for Patriots watching. There are over 40 big-screen TVs, including a gigantic 85-inch plasma screen, and they have plenty of food and drink to keep good times going.
